XiaoMessy
I always thought Grindr is 99% looking for fun, 1% window shop? IMO, it's not really the app you want to use looking for friends/rs. ahp0ng
Although, many say that the app is full of people looking for fun. But see, you guys who maybe don't, are in the app too! So don't be so down, there are decent people in there. I have chat and made a few decent friends there. And some of my other decent friends are in there too!! freeseme
I admit i seek fun on the app, but there are times that you just wanna chat and you can find people within the app that you can chat with about anything under the sun as you speak as 2 individuals in the world who don't know each other and no restrains. transmissionsm
I usually install grindr for few days then uninstall when I get bored. Then install it again few months later.. Every time I login , within 1 day there will be this same guy (with macarons profile pic) asking for "Any dick pics" Then people who are near me seemed to be scare about meeting (I only look for people within 200 near my place on grindr) the sentence "Don't shit where you sleep" applies to all of them. I mean what they so afraid of? Not like i'm some crazy guy, i'm more worried about them than they worried about me... Everyone is afraid of stalkers who cling onto to you esp if they know where you live. I had an unfortunate experience of dating a guy at work. Even though we were in different parts of the building, he started to stalk me when we stopped seeing each other. It became so bad that I got one of my colleagues to nicelytell him to stop bothering me.
Topdownunder
Also there has been cases of robbery, sexual assaults and murder in grindr hook ups gone bad in Australia. You can be the nicest guy on the planet but you just don't know much about the other party. Online persona can be very different to real life. KENZ
Geez Thanks Topdownunder for the warning. Sometimes in Singapore we are too complacent because we are living in a pretty safe country. However most of the time we are just waiting for something major to happen before people start to notice and take precaution. charvo87 and Topdownunder

Always try to meet unfamiliar guys in a crowded public place first. That way you can be guaranteed that nothing bad can happen. Lonelyboy90
you got your own preference, so do others. its hard to match up in this app when there are so many others who fit the bill of any individual. keyboard
Dont feel bad about getting blocked. That's the easiest way to see more people and increasing the possibility of finding someone more suitable for yourself. What's the point of seeing the same 100 people on your screen year after year when you will never be interested to see/meet them. Just don't waste people time and expect anyone to be a mind-reader. lovehandle, gayboysgx and ZKT279

Dear @Elson91, the gay community sadly...is 99% VISUAL, so pls don't feel hurt by strangers who block U, everyone on Grindr has their own agenda, i too have been on the receiving end of MULTIPLE BLOCKS, but never be offended by that, never see that as a rejection, be INVIGORATED that someone did not want to take an interest in U...because the more U are able to accept the reality that "This is the way Grindr works"...U will emerge stronger & U will naturally attract "The right one". =) CECJD and kidster

devilry
Please. I get blocked ALL THE TIME. Which is ok with me, honestly, because if you're not interested then it saves both of us time. I routinely block people who indicate no chubs, because I'm not going to change anyone's mind. Quote __ http://devilrysg.tumblr.com
