Here’s my account on Wednesday, 18 March, afternoon a particular dude was being singled out by a fellow patron and the onsen staff ushered the dude out.

Didn’t keep track of time, an Abang police office (cloth, lol) came into the sauna with the onsen staff, officer apologetically announced his entry and did a quick visual scan.

When I left the dude was with 2 policeman at the reception. Damn!

Pls play within our community and don’t assume every guy goes there looking fir sex please.

Does the social distance movement applicable to onsen, sauna and beauty salon?

The guidance is for massage parlours and entertainment to close. But since onsen is like inbetween? No mention of closure on their Facebook yet.

The heat will kill the virus even before the virus can reach 1m. Lol

HAhaha no scientific evidence yet tho. But chlorine does have some effect on killing virus in water so Swimming pools still open.

High heat can kill bacteria, not sure about virus. The temperature in our onsen is not high enough to kill anything la.

Now 23 people

30 males and 23 females.

Each pool generally max 4 people, each hot room max 4 people, jet bath alternate, showers also alternate. 1 person per bench (total 4 benches).

Don't worry, the area is generally big enough for 1 metre spacing apart.

how do they maintain 1 m distance apart in onsen?  Mark out spots where people can sit in steamroom or inside pools?  Even queues at supermart need to be 1 m apart for such short periods of contact.

Once the number reaches more than 20, they will do spot checks regularly.

Soap and water dissolve the outer layer of the virus, which is essentially made of lipids. So people should wash up first before entering the pools or rooms. 😛

I have seen people who did not wash up and walked straight to the pool.   Talk about indent etiquette....

Not according to this.. so think better to avoid. 👍

I think you will continue to have egg (virus) unless you kill the hen( carrier).

Oh I'm actually referring to coronavirus, because it has a coating made of lipids.

But if you are referring to that article which includes bacterias, other viruses, and so on, then you should completely avoid it in the first place.

That article also talks about MSRA. That is a very resistant bacteria that can even be possibly found on place like door knobs, life buttons, and possibly anywhere in the public, not to mention in steam room (which I don't know why it become a focal point inside that article).
