Li Jiawei came into Singapore in 1995, trained for 17 years before she got the medal. So she milked us of all our money for those 17 years and got her big fat Olympic bonus, before she "retired" back to Beijing. But here, we have a local 21 year old Singaporean who won us a medal in much less time than that... Just what type of talent is this "Foreign Sports Talent Scheme" bringing in? Gold digging talents?? nixorn
Quoted from cna news: "Since leaving Rio for Singapore on Saturday (Aug 13) afternoon - a journey that involves stopovers in São Paulo and Barcelona, Schooling has been recognised by fellow travellers at every point as the swimmer who beat three butterfly greats: Michael Phelps, Chad le Clos and Laszlo Cseh. From Rio's Tom Jobim International Airport to São Paulo and Barcelona, numerous groups of all nationalities asked to take pictures with the newly crowned 100m butterfly Olympic champion. Every request was met with enthusiasm." So lucky the passengers on this flight... "On board the Singapore Airlines flight to Barcelona, the cabin crew did not let Schooling's feat go unnoticed. His achievement of winning Singapore's first ever gold medal was announced on board, with the airline commemorating his feat with champagne and chocolate for every passenger." http://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singapore/i-expect-it-to-be/3042104.html bluerunner

And the grand irony is all the time, the government was heaping money on those "foreign talents"..... This is what happened when our government has such low opinion of our very own people, and still get so much support from them during voting time. Take a look at how our own government treats our own people like shxt, and yet despite all these, he told the media that "This swim wasn't for me. It's for my country." What more can we really ask from him? If there's anything more I would have like to ask from him, it will be to give the stupid MIW bitch next to him in that picture a tight slap when he gets another chance. What I hate now is how the government is going to stage another real hypocritical show during the next Parliamentary session talking about his accomplishment etc etc etc. But I guess they are going to conveniently forget how the family put him through all these to win us this historical moment, all the while they were pouring money to buy talents.
