Guest Guest
Just came across a newly opened Char Kway Teow stall at an unbelievable cheap price of $2. Newly opened so no signage still...it's at #02-150 Chinatown hawker center 2nd Floor. Operated by an uncle....one man show. Tasted it....pretty good. ..give it a try if you are around there. The location is towards the back row of the hawker center so not many people walk past there. Good to show some support for start up business. Operation hours for now from 8 am to 8 pm daily. Guest Guest
Of course it is very tiring to char ....and only at a paltry sum of $2. Life is never fair or equal....some people have to eke out a living....do show some commiseration towards them. God bless.

Guest Guest
Local person frying or foreigner? If local, I will support. If foreigner, I eat elsewhere. Our salary so low, foreigners still want to undercut us further?
Guest Guest
Local .....certainly not a foreigner.....not even a PR I believe.

Guest Halo
The one u described behind Buddha tooth relic temple is maxwell market, so wonder which 'Chinatown' hawker centre as there are 3 hawker centres in Chinatown.
Coolbriz
Chinatown Hawker Ctr is bounded by Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, Smith St and Keong Saik Rd. So all of you are right Cube3 1 Quote Be cool, like a breeze...
Guest Guest
I visited the $2 char kway teow stall yesterday and supported the uncle again. Business is bad....he said he needs to fry 50 plates to cover but can hardly sell beyond 20 plates. He will be putting up the signage today all by himself to save cost...amazing ! He is quite receptive.....will prepare some pork lard for those who want them to be added. And he has fish cakes for those who do not want cockles in their noodles. You wont believe....his $1 economical bee hoon is fried on the spot....ready to be eaten freshly there or take away. I doubt his business can survive......do give him some support if you are there for the lantern festival.
Cube3
Not bad, just tried his kway teow...there is even a cockle inside, incredible for $2! Will definitely drop by more frequently...
