Guest Busted lumbar
I busted my lumbar discs and so should stay off dead lifts. I'm doing pretty much everything else but I've heard so much about the wonders of a dead lift, how it's an overall strengthening exercise. I'll be candid, my motivations are predominantly aesthetic. I currently have a decent toned body with 12% body fat. Just wanna be larger.
xydboy
Check with your physiotherapist or medical practitioner for clearance on performing the exercises. It is up to them to determine your contraindicated movements. It is a good exercise, but there are also other exercises that can be done to stimulate muscle growth and also for the betterment of life. Your quality of life will not be dampened if you no do do deadlifts. Safety is of paramount importance.
