Guest Json
As i can't afford a decent ebook reader, I'm thinking abt getting a psp instead. So before investing, i would like to hear experience of u guys just to make sure if it is convenient. Heres my questions -Does it able to read most of the pdf files? Is screen large enough not to strain your eyes? When letter size page is zoom to fit vertically, can u guys read without having any difficulty?Any input is welcome. subbtmchn73
had the psp but sold it ... dont remember it can read pdf but then again i didnt explose it that much.i have seen people read on it .... so far i saw a few guys reading some japanese doc on the train. but it was like text on white background. so dont look like pdf.other options you are look at is also like ipod touch ... requires some hacking ... also a lot more expensive. if you dont mind old technology ... try a palm device. some of them are still selling. pretty decent PDA and can use to read docs. should be cheap now.but psp lite is a nice device if you want to play games and watch video on it. has wifi so good for surfing the net although .... so far i think iphone or ipod touch is really the best mobile device for web surfing. Thats why I started this thread to get more info on this.other options you are look at is also like ipod touch ... requires some hacking ... also a lot more expensive. if you dont mind old technology ... try a palm device. some of them are still selling. pretty decent PDA and can use to read docs. should be cheap now.At where I live, there is no PDA which falls in psp price range. beta
I have a fren using the psp as ebook reader. But if the psp is running on the M33 series of firmware, then i'm not sure any update for those home brew program to run on the M33 firmware already. Previously most home brew are created base on the 1.5ver fw. I do encounter some home brews that don't run on M33 series of fw.Note: all psp slim non official fw are M33 series. Correct me if i'm wrong. Most normal psp selling with non official fw in local stores are upgraded to the M33 series also. Check the website for any ebook program that can run on M33 series b4 u buy and remember to ask what fw version is in the psp b4 u buy. Most important thing, i doubt the psp ebook can resize the pdf file, so u may need to do a lot of scrolling or the words become very small to read......U might be disappointed with the result. IMHO, the psp is still better for gaming and watch video if u willing to do all the conversion. If u intend to play psp games A LOT do ur homework b4 buying, otherwise u r better off save up for a PDA. The fw upgrading and conversion for psp can be very headache and confusing if u do not know how to do........
