A check with the SSC website reveals Serangoon SC and Hougang SC. There isn't a Upper Serangoon SC. Where exactly is USSC? Is it at 35-A Yio Chu Kang Road?

If you like chinese Ah Jek in 40s or older hor, you can consider USSC loh, i went to see see look look over the weekend late afternoon, hmm.........no hunks but a lot of Ah Jek, a bit like those in Chinatown loh..........

Thaiboyz. I can't generalize and also not fair to do so. I went to the one at Upper Serangoon Rd (Not East Coast) on Sat say about 5pm.

The place is quite run down, similar to those shops along Lavendar Rd (before Sim Lim Towers), many shops are closed or no tenant. Hmm.... a few tatoo shops, a few massage (by ladies - like those in chinatown), a few eateries, one furniture shop, one sell TOTO, one sell computer stuff ......then can see enough (won't say a crowd lah, but obvious enough) guys walking on each floor and around in and out of toilets. Quite obvious, I think the shop owners know what is happening.

Inside the toilets cubicles a lot of "paintings" and "postings", and enough (again) guys inside......one look you know what all are there for. Walking in the toilet or standing at the urinary bowl with no pee. I was entering the toilet when one Ah Jek coming out. He saw me going in immediately U turn back and go next to my cubicle and started tapping his feet liao.......Ka Chew (Leg and Hand) Si Bei Geen (fast) one.

Objectively, most of the guys looks like traditional Chinese Ah Jeks in their 40s and up (they wear short sleeve shirts like the crocodile brand that kind, then pants). Didn't see young guys or HUNKS. Got one chub, one indian and one sissy. The sissy not so appealing to me personally because the whole "package" is a bit not in syn - he was very tall (maybe 180) and hunching a bit, got moustache, looks Ah Jek in 40s yet got gold hair, wore old maid glasses with striking colour clothes plus backpack. Then gesture wise feminine, so a bit strange to me lah (personal opinion, maybe a turn on to others, no offense).

I also walked up the stairs, got at least 2 to 3 guys sitting on each level's stairs. Also same kind of profile.

So after "Racky" a bit, I left............

Sometimes it all boils down to the "packaging". If it is not "attractive" (personal taste) it is usually not "apetitising". Of course, having said that, if it is done wrong, like the "sissy guy" it will be a turn-off(to some it is not).

The crowd and the kind of packaging varies at different places: (in general)

Gym hunks/lean fit/macho-mary at Most Gym, esp Cali

Young lean/swim hunks at Yio Chu Kang/Tg Katong pool

Executive type at Raffles place

Young / trendy at Raffles City/City links/Orchard Rd

Heartlanders at TP's HDB hub/Clementi/AMK/Bedok central

Uncles/foreigners at Pearl Centre/HL Park

So depending on what type you go for or how "hungry" you are.

Actually sometimes can get lucky - Like I was - when visiting USSC on a quiet Sun afternoon. Just there to check out the scene after reading all the posts. Wandered ard and true it is run down but still reasonable. Toilets are clean. saw many cruisers and not just uncles. Went to 2nd flr toilets and was rewarded with a nice show. A fit guy in his 30s exhibiting and four viewers and + me 5. Watched as he got naked and touched himself all over. A couple of the viewers helped to add their hands ;-) eventually we all got in on the action as exhibitionist liked group fun. So still a worth while place to visit - Good Luck.

Sometime I just feel it is wasting of time doing this. I do know the fun and excitment in it. But just feel it is a waste of time if you cannot find anyone you like.

One time I wait in the toilet for more than an hour and cannot find anyone I want SO on the way time I tell myself better stay home and sleep or go suana .

In London and continental Europe where the GAY scene is so advanced, there are places for all TYPES to meet. There are different saunas and bars to meet specific requirements. Some for older and their admirers, bears and their admirers, biker types, twinks and so on.

Cruising in Singapore is more like "tiok buay pio" (strike lottery). More often than not, you strike out, go home and let Mr Tthumb and his four buddies do the job. :-(

Japan scenes are very specific too. Themes specific bar catering to Bears(Kuma), SM/uniform (Hentai), Chubs (Debusen), Muscular/Stocky (SG-Supa-Gachirri), Artists (Yes, Art bar), Twinks, TV-CD (Transvestite-CrossDressers), Fundoshi (Jap underwear), Tattoo bar, etc. Besides the regular Saunas, there are Hattenba (Cruise space), TV rooms (TV room with holes), SM cruising space, Fundoshi Cruising space, etc.

Taiwan scenes are rather limited when compared with Japan. Bears / Chubs (熊/胖熊), Silver daddies (熟男) and their admirers are usually patronise PLU Karaoke and Clubs for singing and drinkings. While twinks the others would patronise disco/trance clubs. Saunas are not really group specific, although Rainbow (彩虹) is more like out TC/17 and Office (公司) is similar to our Diamond/Shogun/Sphere/BH, while Raw caters slightly more to alternative types.

What I meant is, if you are slim and clean cut, and you visit a club for bears, some owners will remind you this is for specific members and they sometimes, will not allow you to enter if you do not fit the Type they caters to, sometimes because space is usually limited. Also, if you are not their type, the customers or bar master there may not be interested to converse with you, so you will feel very left out. That is the subtle way, of letting you know you are not welcome.

I meant to ask whether Japanese society in general is tolerant of GAYS as the Western European countries are. If not, it is odd that such speciality facilitites are able to sprout there.

from what i have observed, the level of tolerence is quite high in Japan, though not necessary very open as in some Western Europe.

basically, their way of thinking is as long as you dont offend me, i wil pretend you are not around. hence the clustering of the joints within certain areas in toyko city.

of coz as with other cities, gay bashing are not unheard of. and being an asian society, a guy is suppose to get married and start a family. thereafter what he does behind his wife is anyone's guesses. so you can find a good number of married men in ueno park having fun while enroute back home.

Yeah you are right, I also experienced it too, the Japs in subway, during the journey, they read all kind of reading materials like newspaper, comic, p--no magazine either straight or gay and seemed nobody surrounding those guys bothering each other.
