Popular Post lovehandle
it talks about just cos there are many wrong activities, so do we keep curbing them? eg men raping women (u have seen the news) does it mean we must curb all hetero activities the reason why gays keep having multiple partners is cos they CANNOT get married and settle down w just one! CKW
I can't fully understand the video, but I picked up bits of it, especially the nun's critique of the hypocrisy of society (I hope I understood her correctly?). In society, people seem to have different standards for gay and straight people. E.g. society tolerates when a man flirts or sleeps with different girls, but get all worked up when they hear that a man has a boyfriend. Or during NS, all the straight guys will talk about girls in a very demeaning and highly sexualised manner. But when they know that an NSF is gay, even if that NSF does his job well and didn't do anything wrong, very often they will bully him and call him names like 'faggot', 'weird', 'queer', 'freak', as if they themselves are so holy and righteous when they treat girls as sex objects. I don't wish too They want their bfs to dress or cut (their hair) in a certain stye What are we? objects for their .... So let s stop saying about straight men, straight women and non-straight women are equally the same (Buddhism said it all, so long u r a sentient being, u will have a lot of emotions up and down, u will have fetish eg me, I m not perfect, I have fetish when I m masturbating, but in reality, I may not wish to do certain things)Which is why I purposely bring out this video, in Buddhism: We respect all kind of pp (So long u don't cause harm to another) We don't specifically mention that marriage is sacred...(which is highlighted in that video) cos some harped that marriage became tainted when it is two LGBT partners forming a marriage partnership together, OMG! How tainted can it be? - u shd know which relign mention about marriage When I highlighted this vid, I don't meant to pinpoint a particular govt or to point fingers at another group of human beings cos I m not perfect Since u r here and Puffypuff

yoyo74
Although I am a free thinker, will not fully believe in any religion when there is no concrete evidence. I still feel that Buddhist teaching give lots of meaningful words and teaches people what is the right way to do things. TS first videos really talk sense about gays relationship as compared to other religion of god fearing tactics. Buddhism had partially cause me to change my thoughts and now i am a more compassionate person and go on a vegetarian diet due to it. I hope i can follow the Buddha footstep to love everyone and everything on earth although it is very hard as one of the hardest love is to love your enemy too. I don't see how homosexuality in itself can be a "sexual misconduct". Sexual misconduct should be the one that victimizes any one of the participants, not something to do with their sexual orientations. There can be so much misconduct in hetero like in homo sex! Deception, cheating, selfishness, etc. etc. If a woman seduces a man with sex for his money, or a man seduces a woman for her money, THIS is sexual misconduct. On the other hand, homo or hetero sex can be perfectly clean. I like the Buddhist philosophy and feel much admiration for Buddha. But I find the Buddhist religion contaminated with much baggage and their leaders as imperfect as those from other organized religions. . Guest Meh
It is just surprising to know that there still are people who believe in the notion of god and creation. Clearly, you refuse to use your brain to analyze 'facts' and 'stories' preached in the religion books. come on, how can so many different species of this wonderful world can be fit into one big ship? How can the god stay so elusive from us if he really loves us? why can't he just appear right in front of my face? Is it fair to cast non-believers to hell on the ground that their only crime is not believing in god when god did not even bother to show himself? What good the person did in his lifetime does not matter? That certainly is not fair at all. What was god doing before he created us? playing with angels since eternity? it must be really boring to do nothing but live with angels for a very very long long time. I would rather have a life of ups and downs than forever bask in the glory of that sadistic god. NO THANKS. No worry. I got an answer for you. God works in mysterious ways. no matter what, remember god still loves you. oh please, I am not a kid who will buy into sweet stories. If you have enough respect for your brain, try to read up more and think critically. Inform yourself on histories of middle east and europe. Gather enough courage to read books such as 'The end of faith' and 'God delusion'. Give yourself a real treat, not some scribbling ancient cavemen wrote down two thousands years ago. Popular Post Salt&Pepper
After reading thru' the above comments, I would like to just share what was taught to me when I practice Buddhism: 1. 依法不依人 follow the Buddha's teachings, practice and verify yourself if what he taught is true. Do not blindly follow the teachers including the Buddha himself. 2. See your "enemies" as your teachers instead and reflect if you suffer the same fundamental flaws they have and change for the better. Develop compassion (not love) for them. 3. Our own salvation do not depend on "God" but within ourselves. There is no such thing as "works in mysterious ways". It's all about karma. 4. The Buddha teaches and urges us to attain complete and perfect wisdom. Buddhists who understand this is sustained by wisdom they gained, not emotions. I do not have all the answers, but I hope these will help in limited ways it can. Namo Amitabha. turks, MadMan, fab and 2 others

Just to add on, the dharma encourages us to discern n not follow blindly any teaching or to worship anyone, including shikamuni. Blind faith is dangerous. Basically everything happens for karmic reasons. There's no such thing as blessings, not even from any buddha or bodhisattva. Everyone is self reliant through his own deeds. 3 things that we must develop r wisdom, compassion n the path. And 3 things we must abandon r the 3 poisons.
