Omg I just found out from a friend Hokuokan Gay Sauna in Osaka Umeda is closed for good. He send me an attachment with a letter from the place saying they closed for good on 31 March. Wanted to attach it here but the file is too large.

Ok I got the link to the news about Hokuokan closing down for good.

I just left Osaka and regret not going to Hokuokan more often. Would have gone everyday if I knew it was closing down!

Ah it is sad to see Hokoukan go.  I had a good time there.  People were friendly and accepting of all body shapes.

Sad, I liked Hokuokan very much. Kaikan 24 in Tokyo shall probably also close soon. The sauna is run down and no renovations are made.

Just came back. Stop over for a night stay at an all male hostel around ueno station. The share shower was a big communal traditional public bath. Many international travellers showering in nude and few caucasians walking around showing off their big swinging banana.

The curtain in some capsules leave a big opening gap. Walking past can see some men in only undie and saw 2 was totally naked in different capsules, 1 reading book another playing on his phone.

Went to a remote public onsen in Yokoyama. Mostly local inside only saw 2 caucasians. Went to 1 of the big pool and saw only 4 local guys in their 30s inside relaxing and chatting at a corner. After sometime, 1 by 1 stood up and left the pool. Surprised to see the last guy stood up with a hardon leaving the pool. The first friend turned around and saw his hardon and laughed at him. Probably culture so they are not shy about being in nude or having hardon infront of friends. Even inside the bathroom and lockers, I can also see half hard dicks. No local men bother covering their dicks.

You definitely can't see such thing in SG yunomori ,most SG men always cover their precious jewel.

Guest Trip Report

Fukuoka: Visited in early April 2023 and can confirm that weekend nights on gay sauna Gold Sign are indeed popping. Majority of the crowd were younger looking twinks

Osaka: I was really looking forward to visiting Houkoukan but saddened to learn its closure one week before my planned visit. Went to nearby Daikichi instead. Like Gold Sign, weekend nights are indeed popular. You’ll never be alone. Unlike Gold Sign in Fukuoka, the crowd leaned older, and if you’re into stockier types, they were also welcomed. Crowd kinda dies down by 9pm so plan to go earlier.

One more tip about staying in Japanese hotels: try to look for those with public onsens included. At the very least you’ll get a visual treat when you go take a soak, but sometimes you may get lucky if you see an interested guest that you can coordinate with later. I never used my own room’s shower when I went, I took all baths public because it was super nice. In Osaka, I recommend APA Umeda-eki Tower

So agree with this. Hokuokan was the best. I wish some rich gay Japanese investor could reopen the place. They were always packed during the weekends. Don’t know why they suddenly closed down. So sad

Kaiken 24 Shinjuku just raised its over night price on 17 April from 3000 to 3900 yen. I was there the weekend before and there was a 20 minute queue just to get a shoe locker. Crazy place. Guys were so hot though. Had like 6 guys over 12 hours

Thank you. I’m back. Actually I think what you’re referring to is the capsule next to the Centurion hotel, I think it’s called Oriental something. Centurion is a hotel with proper room. :) Anyway, the centurion hotel & spa is like an extension of the centurion hotel where guess can use the public bath there. Nice soak, nothing happened there.

Is 24 kaikan Shinjuku foreigner friendly?

My experience there was this - the patrons did not seem to mind, we just played and did not have long, meaningful conversations.

As for the counter guys, I went in there, kept my head low but somehow they still gathered I was a gaijin, and spoke to me in English.  They were businesslike, no discrimination or anything.  Just very straightforward.  That was my only encounter with the counter guys.  I only said "arigato" to them when I left, and that was the extend of our interaction.

I hope this helps.

Kaikan 24 in Tokyo welcomes foreigners. The counter staff speaks English and all printed information on the walls is repeated in English, for foreign guests. As for the patrons, there are only a few who tend to avoid them. There are also some who actually prefer foreigners to Japanese.

Ohh in Osaka, there is an infamous local sento with discreet (many above 50s) gay activities

I was in Tokyo for the last 3-4 months for business. I went to 24 Kaikan Shinjuku several times. No problem entering as a foreigner as the processes are quite simple. Indeed, there was an increasing number of Caucasians and Blacks in the last month. You will need to remove your shoes at the entrance. Remember to have a 10-yen coin to use the shoe locker. The rates differ on the timing of your visit but it will be clearly stated at the counter. You pass the foot locker key to the person manning the counter, check the rates and then insert your money into the machine on the left. The counter staff will pass you a bag with towels. You will also get a robe if you are staying for a longer period or if the timing of your visit is near the end of the day. The counter staff will discreetly check if you are a foreigner by asking for your name in Japanese. Once they realise you are a foreigner, they will ask for your name in English. They won't check your passport or take down your name. It seems to be just a process for them. Another suggestion is to choose an odd number locker as it will mean that you will have a top clothes locker. It is easier to change and put your clothes into the locker. Obviously, if you prefer to stare at other people's jewels from a lower elevation, taking an even number locker will give you an opportunity to do so. Once you are undressed, you are free to roam the place. No condoms or lube are provided. So bring your own or risk doing raw. It is not uncommon to see people walking around with a small pouch of condoms and lube. Toothbrushes and other amenities are available at the counter and near the entrance of the baths. You do not need to bring those with you. When you are done, just pass the bag with the towels to the counter and they will hand you the foot locker keys. Remember to only wear your shoes at the entrance. If bros need any other information, let me know and I can do so. Happy to share to make it more enjoyable and fruitful for all.

Abit of a walk.

Easy way is head towards shinjuku 3chome metro station.

Takashimaya is exit E8

Get out from exit C8, get to level one and exit to your left. You should see pod select hotel.

Continue down the road until you walk pass a lawson and reach a small park. You should see 24kaikan to your right before the park.

Enjoy !

It is a bit far from Shinjuku, maybe about 10 to 20 minutes. It may be better to take one subway stop to Shinjuku-Sanchome or Shinjuku Gyoemmae and walk there. Sanchome can be more interesting especially in the evenings as you will pass by many gay bars and shops. Always interesting and full of eye candies.

The crowd gets a little bit heavier in the evenings and weekends. You also get a lot more variety especially with younger ones. But even in the afternoons, there is usually still quite a number of people. But you might want to go after 7 as the saunas and washing area are closed off for cleaning in the late afternoons/early evening. Any action during that time is limited to the rooms upstairs.

There is always a lot of action no matter the timing of your visit. So far, it takes less than half an hour before someone approaches me. After changing, I usually go to the showers to wash myself. The showers are arranged in blocks so you often see people hanging around and sizing you up. If you see someone to your taste, you might have an early start. Once, a guy pushed me into the cubicle and started giving me a blow job even before I had a shower. It is that happening. The showers at the back has glory holes if that is your thing. You can take a peek at your neighbours and if you like, you can have a blowjob then. It is rare though. I only had experienced it once myself.

After showering, you should also take a look at the room near the saunas. During the weekends, you will find someone lying on the sling, offering himself to anyone who is interested. There was one time a young muscular man laid there. There was a queue and I gave up after a while. When I returned maybe about an hour later, he was still there, the queue did not seem to subside.

The saunas are my favourite spots. You just need to sit there and someone will usually approach you with a blowjob. I don't like the dry steam room though as it is too warm to do anything.

The baths are nice places to see naked men too. The Japanese are quite comfortable being naked and several times, I saw groups of friends or colleagues simply talking to each other in the nude or even admiring each other's tools. But it is also the place where you can check out cute guys as the other places are not as brightly lit.

The rooms above are where most action takes place. The movie room is a dud. It plays trailers of gay porn and they are not even exciting or erotic. It is usually empty. The rooms with the double decker beds are more happening. There is usually someone having sex even on the top bunks. If you like to hunt, check out the beds. If someone seems to be awake, approach him and if he does not resist or push you away, you are in luck. If you are sleeping there though, it can be irritating as people are always waking you up, rubbing your cock or simply hugging you. If you are not interested, I suggest you wrap yourself tightly in a blanket and take the top bunk as it is more difficult for people to climb up to disturb you. But if you like to be hunted, the simplest way is to take off everything and lie down on the lower bunks or mattreses. Action will come quite fast. There is one time this guy next to me simply laid with his ass exposed. Within minutes, his ass was caressed by one guy and after he was done, a black man took over and fucked him doggy style. I was watching the whole thing and I did not see the guy put on a condom. People are taking very high risks here. But I could be mistaken though as while I was watching them, a guy was stroking my cock and I was a little distracted. Free show. But do be careful as sometimes, the people there can be impatient. They may not wait for the first guy to finish before coming in. You do see orgies once in a while.

This is especially true for the Caucasians and blacks as they can be quite pushy. There was this black guy who keep on harassing me after I said no. He approached me in the sauna. I escaped to the rooms and he tried to grab my cock. I pushed him away and he tried to hug me. Even after I told him a forceful no, he still tried to act cute and jabbed me in the stomach. Idiot. No one gets seduced with a jab in the stomach.

One thing to note is that younger men are much fewer. If you prefer younger men, I suggest that you do not waste your time in Kaiken 24 but go straight to urisen. You can choose and you know what you are getting. Also, some of them are really skilful and worth the higher price.

This was my experience in 24Kaiken too.  Do note that there are 3 24Kaiken in Tokyo - Ueno, Shinjuku and Asukasa.  The  one in Asukasa is my least favourite.  I liked the ones in Ueno and Shinjuke.

If you are interested in massages, you should try Utatane. It is a grouping of individual masseurs. You can choose from a large number of people on the type of person you like including age, sexuality, certification, the ability to speak English, etc. Just note that they only offer handjobs and nothing else. Each person is also different. I had a couple of younger, cute masseurs but they were just eye candy. The massage was lousy. Some will be a little more flirty, take a shower with you and touch you seductively. Then there are those who are really unmotivated and even wore briefs when it was supposed to be a naked massage. If you really want a good massage, I suggest you look for those with certification as their massage are usually more serious. You should also check their Twitter as they announce their availability there. Sometimes, you may also be rewarded with pictures of their faces (their faces are pixelised on the webpage). If they do not post often, it will also indicate that this is a side hustle for them and they may not be very interested in doing a good job. My favourite so far is Okazaki. His massage is very good, using liberal amount of oil. He also use his tool to do massage which is very sensual.

Utatane mostly do business trips i.e. they visit you at your hotel. If you prefer a massage place, you can try Satyroi. Their massage is good but their processes to book an appointment can be onerous. There are so many checks to ensure that you are serious about making an appointment. The same goes for Nam Wa. This one require a deposit through PayPal. I only tried these establishments once.
