Does not sound like you went to 24 Kaikan Shinjuku. You do know that there are three different 24 Kaikans in Tokyo, yes?

um.. i am pretty sure its shinjuku branch because my hotel at shinjuku.

Yeah, but its strange cos I have never ever seen guys with white hair in Shinjuku. Maybe they are visitors too and dont know that normally

Shinjuku = for younger crowd

Ueno = for not so young crowd

Asakusa = for the older crowd

haha, you're welcome.

anyone know if the summer sales in tokyo are cheap anot? thinking of going during june holidays for another short adventure .__.

My Japanese friends told me they are interesting, mainly for cameras, computers and things like that, but I did not check personnally.

This being said, from end of june, their summer weather can be quite hot and wet...

Even on sale, clothes, shoes, etc. non electronic gear, on the whole, are more expensive in Tokyo as compared to SIngapore but I think the quality and fit is better.  There is more choice too. Having said that, with a recession on and the yen quite weak, you might be able to get some good buys e.g. last of stock or oddments.

For clothings and shoes, they're just comparatively cheaper than their usual prices.

But if you're lucky you find super cheap ones like a few hundred yen for a t shirt/tanktop.

Especially if you go to outlets, they can get even cheaper there.

I end up buying more clothes than i can wear and have to keep for the following summer.

There's no need for sales period if you intend to get a camera from Japan. Camera prices are a lot cheaper in Japan then here. Only issue is the warranty. I bought an Olympus Stylus One last Sep, it was SGD$350 cheap than SG's price. Till now I can't find a better deal here.

Like to travel to Tokyo in June but heard hot as Singapore. WTH !

Is it really as hot as Singapore or just hot but windy ?

June is not the hottest because it's the transition towards summer.

Mid July - August is very hot and humid. can be worst than singapore. June is just... rainy.

I would recommend Kisarazu for outlet shopping. One of the nearest from Tokyo (only 40 minutes from Tokyo station!) and has a great selection of brands. It's also easy to get there, with direct shuttle bus services plying from the main stations in Tokyo right to its doorstep!

Looks like JPY is set to depreciate further against US dollar for 2015, so it may indeed be a good year for you guys to visit Japan.

I heard of Kisarazu but I have never been to the outlets there.

There's an undersea tunnel running from Kawasaki to Kisarazu under Tokyo Bay so it really cut shorts the travelling time, compared to travelling to places like Gotemba or Koshigaya. (Heard that for those who have a long layover at Narita Airport, a quick visit to Shisui might be worthwhile.)

I'm always running after you.

You are my ideal.

You are me.

Has anyone tried Gate In, near Tokyo Station? It looks like an interesting cruise place. Their website says tops should wear their locker key on the right...i always thought tops wore it on the left...
