Two months ago I went to Tokyo, didn't had much time to explore hattenbas, but in my last two days in the city I went bravely inside two different ones without make part in any kind of action (well, aside some deep kiss... that's all), but I did stay maybe 1 hour or less, tired for the trips around Tokyo but really curious to find out what kind of place was an hattenba, lol.

I  think for an average (and below) european like me could be way more challenging, this was just my impression, I don't know, but I'm going to try to explore more the next time I'll be in Tokyo (late november).

 

A question: reading some conflicting info about 24 kaikan, some say they provide condom, some say they don't... who's right on the matter ?

I think u need to ask for those at the counter. I didnt go there for sex, just light stuff so i didnt reconfirmed that part of the info.

I don't believe I've seen condoms readily available in the open in 24 Kaikan in Ueno or Shinjuku - though as Sudu mentions, perhaps you can ask for at the counter.  I tend to always bring my own (Japanese condoms don't fit me comfortably at all :-D

Speaking of hattenbas, there's one in Ueno for Jbears/GMPD called Cave that I visited earlier this year - it had condoms readily available.

When you go in November, please report back here your findings :-)

I didn't had a chance to mention my brief experience with hattenbas in the previous post. Maybe because

didn't had much luck, lol. Anyway in my last two days in Tokyo I went to BodyBreath (Shinjuku Ni-chome) and

Haaard (Ueno).

 

BodyBreath: It was Sanja Matsuri last day, a sunny&hot day I must say, so after spending some time at the

Matsuri I was thinking "I need to go at some hattenba before I leave Tokyo! but where to go ?". So I decided

for BodyBreath mostly because some days before that I went at the Book-off near Shinjuku Gyoenmae metro

station, and this hattenba entrance it's just outside Book-off. Actually initially I couldn't find the right

entrance and I ended inside another hattenba called Bears Camp, but the front guy was kind enough to

accompany me at the right place, lol.

Staff can speak basic english, so no problem, it was easy to understand the rules (like where to put your

bracelet with key, depending you are a top/bottom/versatile). Crowd was mostly local young&fit boys in their

20s, and as the only european (and average) gaijin in his 30s I wasn't really confident, so I can't say I

really tried, a shame because some boys were really hot, athletic, swimmer-like body types. I was thinking

in my head "is this heaven ? why I'm so idiot to came here at the end of my trip ? why ?".

Anyway, after a short shower I spent some time in the common area, and then I went roaming in the maze-like

area. I could hear the actions by the moaning coming out from the private cubicles, and there was a cute

short boy that was constantly looking inside the cubicles..I wonder why.
Unexpectedly a cute guy approched me, and we ended really fast inside one of the dark cubicle, kissing each

other. It didn't last long because we found out we were both top, neither of us noticed the bracelet in the

right wrist, so we parted away soon after, wishing better luck. A luck that for my side didn't came to

fruition, I left soon after, a bit overwhelmed by the experience. Lol.

Haaard: It was my last evening in Tokyo, I was a bit tired, and in the morning I had already some fun with a

boy from Tokyo Kids. I wanted to go back to BodyBreath but it was a bit out of reach from my hotel, so I

decided to search some hattenba near Ueno Station. I was bit disappointed by the crowd inside Harrrd, mostly

muscle cubs in their 30s, there was a weird guy with a wrestler mask... so in the end I went in the shower, then

I spent some time in gym room, sit down at the common space with some porn magazine and video, from where I

could hear some moaning spreading from the action area, and then I went out, after all next morning I had my flight.

I should add that staff can't speak english...

 

 

That's all from my unlucky and unworthy experiences with hattenbas, lol. Wish me better luck next time I go

Based on my past experiences, generally, it is for bears or bears lover (that is, those who are into bears). There are some fit guys, but I don't see as many as that in 24 Shinjuku.

Word of advice, they do not allow old, chubby and long/messy hair people in. My young SG friend is cute, but had long hair covering his forehead. He wasn't allowed in.

Went to Body Breath earlier today. Had fun.

 

I went to Body Breath last Sunday. Found my way from the directions noted in this forum. I was just curious to find out the scene in there so I dropped by to have a look. I was there at noon till about 5pm. The crowd is majority twinks, muscular boys, mid age adults and chubs.

 

Body Breath is actually just a cruising spot. Layout is similar to a sauna/steam room minus the the sauna/steam room. There are lockers to keep your shoes at the entrance and I paid 1,000 to get it. Thereafter, there's a small lounge to surf the net and TVs with some entertainment.

 

Further in there are lockers to keep your belongings and shower room and toilets.

 

Beyond that there's a mix room for cruising and fun with soft sofa and rooms. There will be people cruising around here. There's another doorway to the bear room which requires card access. Need to pay more if you want to access the bear room. I didnt so I just hang around the mix room. 

 

Chatted with a twink there and had hot kissing and light fun in one of the rooms. Occasionally you can hear steamy moans from adjacent rooms if you are lucky.

there's an adjacent entrance that connects to another part of the area for those who seem stocky and hairy perhaps (bears). need to pay additional 200 yen for access

There's some kind of collaboration between Body Breath and Bears Camp to access both of them, two different hattenba in the same building. Actually, as I said some posts ago, at first couldn't find the entrance for Body Breath and I found myself right to Bears Camp entrance, fortunately the front guy was kind enough to accompany me to the right place.
