Andy@Tokyo
2hrs wasn’t too long for a wait, especially in Asakusa, coz its also another ‘gay town’. I refer it to a gay town because, there is 24kaikan, Oban sauna, Sumida garden cruising garden, more than 50 gay bars, etc.. And its also not too far away from the next ‘gay town’, Ueno. It’s another long story on how the 2h was spent, hence, I would ‘fast forward’ abit, okie? The standard entrance fee for the public bath all over Tokyo is 430yen. If u didn’t bring any tower and soap, u need to pay about an addition of 200yen to get them. Imagine this: For about 6~8 sing dollars, u get to wash up, relax, enjoy the scenery of men with different bodies, birdies , eggs, for as long as u like, PLUS, if u are lucky enough, u get to bring back a man of ur liking, why bath at home/hotel? By now, after visting more than 10 sentos in Tokyo , I am equipped with 2 towels, soap, shampoo and the public bath map for Tokyo, ready to hop into any of these sento whenever I felt I need to relax abit.Even as i am equipped with sufficient Japanese to tackle daily life conversations, i was clumsy then: In front of vending machine where one is supposed to purchase ur entrance coupon, i was stun for 2 rounds and i didnt know which button to press as there were many options and some 'sento jagons' which i wasnt familiar with. I bought the 430yen-ticket, approached the reception counter, handed the staff my ticket and entered the mens bathing area. Tatata!!!.....it was a wonderful scene...not perfect yet coz i was early and there were only 5-6 naked peps ard....Delighted, i was ready to strip and jump in the hot bath. But, wait..i forgot something... guess what?? I didnt have towel, nor i have shampoo and soap..my face flushed red   . i had to remind myself that a sento is not a gay sauna. Andy@Tokyo
The sento is usually separated into the changing area (this is also where the toilet is) and the bathing area. Some sento also have open air pools/onsen and sauna. (Jakotsu has all of them)i stripped at the changing area in 3.45secs and entered the bathing area. Here u need to grab a stool and a washing pail (u can see these at the entrance inside the bathing area). Then, u select a bathing area. the selected spot would be ur till u leave. I had a quick wash and head for the open air onsen. There were 2 other person inside the onsen both seated some distance apart, eyes closed. I guessed that they were in their 50s/60s.Well, i took a seat between them and had all the time to do a survey on their them: Tummy O/X ?Cute face O/X ?Smooth skin O/X ? Nice Butt O/X ?etc, etc...While i made a mental check on stats, one daddy awoke and left the pool. fortunately, he wasnt my type. The open ait onsen at jakotsu was quite small, abt 2 and a half bathtubs size? and when one daddy left, i took the opportunity to move closer to the daddy that appeared to have fallen asleep.Note: Age group of the Peps that go to Jakotsu ranged from 30-70yrs-old or more. This sento is also frequent by foreigners too.I found a Youtube video featuring Sento Manners. Guest -DOM-
Hi fellas, need help to answer my questions regarding 24 Kaikan Ueno.1. Do the management require passport for entry? 2. Do they allow clients to leave and re-enter within the time limit of the admission?3. Do they provide condoms and slippers?4. Any sale of food in the premises? Also any gay bookshop or DVD shop near Ueno or Shinjuku?
Andy@Tokyo
1. Do the management require passport for entry? Nope.2. Do they allow clients to leave and re-enter within the time limit of the admission?Dont think so.3. Do they provide condoms and slippers?-Sales of condom is available. there are vending machines, i think. -Slippers = No. 4. Any sale of food in the premises? They do have a snack/food area. Also any gay bookshop or DVD shop near Ueno or Shinjuku?Shinjuku. There are quite a number in Nichome area of shinjuku. Many of them are at ground level and they can be easily spotted at Nichome.Ueno.There are at least 3. All of them near the JR station. Get out of the station from asakusa exit towards the 'gay bars' area. after u passed Fuji soba, u see a PLU shop called black cat (in Kanji characters). That is the one nearest from the station.Hope this helps Edited May 2, 2008 by Andy@Tokyo

oralb
just to add, i remembered that 24 kaiken recently needed some form of identifcation to enter the place, for foreigners will be passport, andy (or anyone else) that has recently gone there, is it true?TC, for specialise bar like this, they require a customer or at least someone that can speak well Japanese to bring u inside. not so much of against foreigners just that they wanted all patrons to fully understand their rules... gpfun
1. If they think that you are a foreigner (especially in 24 Ueno) and are likely to stay overnight (e.g. arriving at the sauna after 8pm), they will request for your passport. However, only 1 passport is required even for a group of people.2. Nope, once you leave the premise and decide to re-enter, you will have to re-purchase a new ticket.3. You can request for a complimentary condom at the counter. If you need more, you can purchase them from the vending machine. Will propose that you armed yourself with lube and condom before entering the sauna. Usually, there is a convenience store near the saunas and you can purchase the condoms there easily. Slippers are not provided. You will need to bring yours if you want to wear them. However, I am not too sure if they allow the wearing of slippers for fear that you may dirty the floor.4. Yes, there are vending machines where you can purchase drinks or meal coupons. You can use the meal coupons to exchange for food at the counter. Food sold include curry rice, ramen, instant noodles, etc. Do note that the food/drinks purchased inside the sauna are more expensive than that sold in the convenience store nearby. You may wish to purchase them before entering the sauna. For me, I have always been doing that and have not been stopped drinking/eating outside drinks/food.5. Yes, pretty sufficient selection of gay bookstores/DVD stores nearby 24 Shinjuku/Ueno.Hope this helps.

Andy@Tokyo
LOL.. First u have to show that u have either an elitist tight ass or a 3.45 cm cock or both. hehe...anyway, i think i wrote somewhere before... well, if u act like a tourist, e.g. If u hang a camera around ur neck. have many 'luggages' with u. speak audibly using a foreign language at the entrance, etc.., would not likely be passed off as a japanese. bokeh
When I visited 24 ueno early april this year, the counter staff did not ask for my passport. Remembered reached there about 7plus pm. Took the wrong shoe locker key which was meant for private room. The counter staff kindly gave me 100yen to get back my shoes and switched to the shoe locker meant for staying in common room. I had an enjoyable time there, better than the 24 shinjuku because the eye candy more my type :-)
bokeh
Some additional comments regarding bookshop. There used to be a books rose in shinjuku selling stuff more geared towards stocky/bear types. i bought some really nice bearish calenders there few years ago. But it seemed to have closed down. Maybe Andy can confirm. The remaining shops i saw in shinjuku were more like adult sex shops than bookshop.anyway, since i do not read japanese, i prefer Jin Jin bookshop in Taipei where it has a good collection of japanese manga (many stocky/bear types) translated into chinese. Andy@Tokyo
An interesting aspect of Education in Japan.---------------------------------------------------Last nite, i saw on TV regarding an Internship program in Japan. The program featured only secondary school students. (Not sure if students from other levels could apply too)Basically, parents can apply though Ministry of Education for their child to undergo an internship at remote parts (countryside) of japan. For e.g. a secondary student in Tokyo could be transferred to some ulu ulu secondary in Kyushu (southern part of japan) to experience countryside education/life for a year. At those remote places, there are only few students. The secondary school featured had only 10 students and only 4 of them are locals (i.e. from the same town). This reminded me of a piece of news i saw in March.. In another remote primary school, a kid who had entered primary one this year is the only student in the school. There are abt 4 teachers though. There is no doubt the the education level has dropped in japan, yet, the above mentioned are one of the things i would like to opt for, if i would to reborn. Because the experiences at the countryside school seems so enriching.

Andy@Tokyo
1) Deciding where to stayLocation of ur hotel is rather important, coz Tokyo is a big place and a hotel which suits ur needs would save you lots of time on transportation. e.g. traveling from one location to another or if ur hotel is close by u need not worry about not being able to catch the last train back. Thus, one would be able to spend more time jalaning ard the places he finds interesting. -Convenience to ur needsThe 5 main areas in Tokyo are Ikebukuro 池袋 (North), Shinagawa 品川 (South), Ueno 上野 & Tokyo 東京 (East), Shinjuku(West). These 5 locations are where Major JR lines, METRO (subways) and/or Shinkansen pass by. Also, trains & buses from the airport would reach anyone of the above mentioned destinations directly. Of these 5 locations, i would recommend either Shinjuku or Ueno (coz got more things to see and they contain the main PLU establishments) for a number of reasons which i would further elaborate in the subsequent posts.(In additional to the write-up, I would also recommend some hotels i find cheap)---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- a) Toyoko Hotels. http://www.toyoko-inn.com/eng/index.htmlcomments: very reasonable prices, clean and the services are okie. Has hotels at various locations. The following 2 hotels in Tokyo are recommended, Nihonbashi-yokohama A1 or Shinjuku- kabuki cho. Near to JR and METRO lines..b) Hotels/Inns in Ueno area松本ホテル http://www.jalan.net/jalan/jweb/yado/YADS_381141.HTML 6000-9000yen/per night福屋ホテル (No links) 6000-9000yen/per night北欧Cupsule/sauna hotel http://www.saunahokuou.com/infomation.html 4000yen/per night. Straight Hotel but very cruisycomments: These 3 hotels are situated ard the same area. 3mins walk from UenoJR station, Asakusa exit. PLU friendly and near PLU bars (1min away). For the Capsule hotel, u would need to deposit ur big luggages at the coin lockers in the JR station.Another Link for hotel in Ueno Hotels list RyoKans(Updated 6thJune08)c) Hotels in Shinjuku area(under construction)A friend recommend this to me yesterday and I find the price quite reasonable as well.http://www.newcityhotel.co.jp/eng/ Edited August 17, 2009 by Andy@Tokyo
Guest ceason
Andy@Tokyo: With regards to Toyoko Inn, I believe the one of the 2 you recommended should be Nihon-bashi Bakuro Yokoyama A1. Personally, I would also recommend the one at Ikebukuro. It's about 5 min walk from the JR Ikebukuro station, which is one of the main stations and is well linked to most other happening places in Tokyo. But as what Andy has said, for PLUs, it might be better to stay in Shinjuku or Ueno, due to it's close proximity to the happening places. For those who prefer the young ones, Shinjuku is better; for those who prefer mature men, Ueno would have the upper hand! :-)

happy.99
Andy recommended to stay at these 3 places Tokyo, Shinjuku and Ueno. Likely because these stations are the JR station itself and also they are the interchange for most of the subway and JR line. if you have a JR pass, you can work to your advantage.to be in japan is not as simple as to just pack and go. you will be in for a big surprise. do be mentality prepared and do your research. if not you willl be spending time walking around looking lost. Andy@Tokyo
Thanks for the participation and comments! (An additional note on Hotels/Ryokan... avoid choosing those that takes more than 10mins walk from main JR J(not METRO) stations.)2a) 台東区 Taito kuWould start with a district i am quite familiar with. The Taito district is where 上野 (Ueno) and 浅草 (Asakusa) is situated. I would say and avg. of 1&1/2days to at least cover the 'must-go' places for 上野 and Asakusa 浅草。 Note that I would be using this UENO MAP for references. Many many places to see and look... An Online guide in english I mentioned something like that before in the forum- if u go any place, check out for the festivals/events that are happening withing the duration of ur trip and try add them into ur itinerary. Think that these festivals/events are real treats to the culture of that place that would enrich the person participating, in one way or another. This is one possible route i would recommend. From Ueno JR station, Exit from the Park entrance (公園口) and enter Ueno park. Beside being known by PLU as a cruising venue, there are several museums and shrines within the park one could visit. One particular shrine of my preferences is the Gojo-tenjin-Shrine (五條天神社)-the shrine. This is where one prays for good health. There u might be able to catch a glimpse of Japanese in kimono, practicing traditional archery. Go whereever u like in Ueno park but, after u are done with the park, head towards Bentendou 弁天堂. I;f u can read a bit of jap or chinese characters, get a Qian1 there (fortune telling).. i dont know.. but so far, the fortune read there has been soooo accurate for me. If u are thinking of going to the zoo.. i would say: forget it. The only giant panda in Tokyo has departed the living world liao.. Anyway, i heard of this from a friend: last time when he visited the zoo during summer.. The panda was nowhere to be seen and there was a 'Panda is absent' sign that was put up, coz the weather is too hot and the panda took leave. This time dont know what kind of sign would be in place.. Let us know if u visit Ueno zoo, okie? Alright, zoo aside... the next place worth venturing is the Kyu-Iwasaki-tei Gardens (旧岩崎邸庭園). It's the building on the btm left of the map. Built by the Mitsubishi founders, this place is a blend of the western and Japanese architectural. The building might not seem impressive from the outside... but wait till u tour the whole area. (Btw, the Ginko tree outside the main building is more than 100yrs old). The final destination before lunch could might as well be the Yushima Tenmangu Shrine (湯島天満宮), that is south of the Kyu-Iwasaki-tei Gardens .. If are still a student.. pray harder there...for this is the shrine where the deity of education resides. The shrine is also know for its chrysanthemum festival and plum trees (should be able to find the dates of the festival from the link provided above). For lunch.. what abt this Nishin Soba found at location 6 in this map http://www.inabata.co.jp/yushima/burari.htmlThe Nishin Soba is originated from west Japan, and in Tokyo, This Nishin soba shop is the one and only i have ever seen. (let us know if there is others?). Japanese friends rated it highly too. This recommended route takes abt 2-4hrs depending on individuals. Andy@Tokyo
I thought i should cont' writing on the 'recommended xDxN tour in Tokyo' but there was something else in my mind that i cant get this off, until i pen it down. (Btw, the recommended xDxN tour in Tokyo/Japan is a suggestion from a fellow BWer. And in any case that i retire from this forum, i hope that info. would also help some PLU. Its a long term project, aimed to help peps who are planning to visit Tokyo. Do chip in too, if u know of other interesting places in Tokyo/Japan.)After 2yrs in Japan, i finally stepped into a Fundoshi Bar!! The experience totally blew me off... Asakusa Fundoshi Bar This bar was highly recommended by a bar master whom i knew well. I bought a fundoshi at a PLU-friendly place and brought it with me to the bar, hoping that the bar master would teach me or put it on for me... But, was disappointed at first when he asked me to go upstairs and asked the other customers for help. This is the Type of fundoshi i bought (i now owned a white color one, hehe)>> How to put on a RoshakuAnd so i went up the stairs.. into the fundoshi area..There was only one other customer there, already in fundoshi, AND he is my type.. So in less than 2.2mins, i was already naked and was abt to ask for his help when another guy , in his 30s, came in the room. I panic a little and procrastinated on my next move. i thought i was fast but this chap who had just entered the room was even faster. He had already stripped and because he was already in his fundoshi, he was ready to sit and drink.. i felt awkward but in the end, i asked for his help instead. hahaBoth the japs were stunned .. and it was later that i found out that they have never put on fundoshi for others before...As soon as i got on my fundoshi, i offered to make the first drink for this chap (it was self-service thinggy) and we settled down and chatted. The cute daddy in his 50s didnt seem to be interested in our conversation and no matter how i tried to get him into a conversation with us, he always gave short answers and appeared to look uninterested. My semi-erected tool reduced to a tiny worm, waiting for the next bird bird to come... Well, this sort of things are common, esp when the other party sees that u are not his type. However, the good news was 2 other daddies in arrived in the next hour! The room became abit crowded and the cute daddy who had been sitting with us adjourned 2 the another room. Another room??!!! Yap, i didnt know there was 'THE OTHER' room (called the play room). it was meant for hotter actions.. i peeped into the play room (a bigger room) and saw, a TV playing gay videos and the room was also armed with SM tools.. OMG! Gosh! I didnt know that some peps visiting here are into SM too. I left the cute daddy in the play room and went back to chat and drink with the rest. The cute daddy did visit us once in a while to refill his drink and once he was refilling his drink beside me, i whispered to him ' why are u so cute?' LOL didnt know how that came out from me but i guess, i was high on my 10th glass of Japanese alcohol. His respond was equally amazing, coz he whispered into my ears this : ' why dont u come over to the next room?' IT was THE indication for further actions. i didnt follow him though and didnt proceed to the play room for the next 20mins. coz both of us, the younger chaps, were educating the 2 other daddies on STDs and the use of condoms. i cant believe that they have the slightest idea of what other STDs beside AIDS. 20mins was a long wait for me and maybe for him too.. But too short for going into the details of STD. i cant wait any longer too, . Ending the conversation with 'Always remember to use condom' , i left them for the play room, sat beside the cute daddy and got him erected in 2.3 secs. Errr. he was milked in abt 6mins (inclusive of the toilet break he took).Well, did singapore 2 services during the 3h-stay at the fundoshi bar. 1) STD education and2) 1x Milking service And i made an fundoshi acquaintance. The 30-yr-old bro says he would bring me to another fundoshi bar next time One last note: keep a secret from my bf,ya? I was not at the fundoshi bar looking for a new bf. Andy@Tokyo
It took me sometime to cont' this coz my last trip to the fundoshi bar wasnt much fun.. yeps, not interesting to me....While Sats are fundoshi day, Suns are no-cloths day. I didnt know it is going to all-naked-day, till the master told me when i was going upstairs to the fundoshi area. Never have i drank and sat ard naked before and its feels kind of awkward. fortunately, i was the first customer that day and i had all the time to get use to the nakedness before anyone else comes. This time, i had more time to explore in greater details the 2 fundoshi room. They have quite a collection of pxxn videos, most were old and hence most videos were those that i havent seen before. :thumb: gd stuffs, hehe.. i did masturbate while watching them... well, i wondered who could have remain cool and calm while watching peps of ur type performing. There is one other features of the room that i would highlight at this pt. There were mirrors too. Yap, mirrors were absolutely turn-ons for me- The mirrors captures scenes which u wouldnt be able to observe during sex or hot actions. i would prefer a mirror to a cam/video cam.An hour passed, and when i thought i would have the room all to myself, other peps came. First was an old daddy (grey/black hair, executive looking), followed by 2 chubs (mini chub and big chub) and in the next hour, another big chub (big chub = more than 90kg), a watanebe ken look alike and a younger exec daddy(early 50s) filled the 2 rooms. Ken was sucking Big chub A (the first big chub) and mini chub shoved his cock into big chubs' throat. It was a threesome or 3.5some.. coz, i was touching them but, i chose not to be too involved. My stay in the play room was short.. coz' afterall, what i was expecting or looking forward to was fundoshi and not really orgies or pure sex. Hence, i went back to the drinking room to join the younger exec daddy and big Chub B. The younger exec daddy actually know me and we chatted for a while before he showed his intention on leaving. He stood up and started to dress and it was then that big chub B saw his cock ring.. Big chub B tried to persuade exec daddy to erect, coz he wanted to see how a cock with an erected ring would look like. (i think he was interested in the exec daddy, haha). i helped too, saying that 'i also wan to See'. The daddy laughed and said he would show me next time and we let him go. Soon after the young exec daddy left, i also ended my 4-hrs-stay at the bar. I guess, I wouldnt go back to the bar on sunday again... coz' it wasnt fundoshi at all... nevertheless, one might still wan to try during no-cloths day coz' it was somewhat happening.. almost like a sauna except u can drink all u wan and choose and watch the videos in that fundoshi bar. Andy@Tokyo
Sharing Personal experiences on fundoshi---------------------------------------------------Its super cooling.. i like the feeling of wearing fundoshi all day but it comes with several inconveniences:1) Roshaku is more difficult to put on than Echu.2) It takes abit of getting use to undoing the fundoshi during toilet trips.3) When i Wear Roshaku i feel that there is always a penis sticking inbtw my butt... well if u are a btm, u might find it stimulating. SunDevil
I was looking through some old photos and thought maybe I should share some photos I took during my Japan trip last year. So here goes....The majestic Mt. Fuji...it's really breathtaking being there looking at this.I was taking a leak in this public toilet and I almost stopped peeing when I saw this sign...the sign says, "Place your hand here for flash".....which got me thinking if it's actually a hidden camera! A picture of total serenity. It's actually a small lake in the garden somewhere in Hakone. Another picture with Mt Fuji on the background. An old dude who was doing a watercolor painting of Mt. Fuji. Cool stuff! This is Lake Ashi viewed from higher ground. OK! That's about all there is...hope I didn't bore you guys. As you can see, the highlight of my trip to Japan was being in Hakone (an hour of train ride away from Shinjuku). I spent two days there...taking in all the scenic views. I'll definitely go back there if only to witness the grandeur of Mt. Fuji again. Quote Better the Devil you know than the Angel you don't... Andy@Tokyo
I was taking a leak in this public toilet and I almost stopped peeing when I saw this sign...the sign says, "Place your hand here for flash".....which got me thinking if it's actually a hidden camera! never seen that before wonder if that device could also perform if we insert other 'thing' into it. Nice pics!Mt fuji, appeals in a different way to one coz' i think it feels and looks different at different seasons and locations. thats maybe one of the reasons why peps revisit her again and again! Might be climbing to the top (topping?) of mt fuji for the first time this summer and also thinking visiting her this coming winter: i heard from a friend that during winter, one could capture crystal clear image of mt fuji from a lake, in the morning. would try plan for a trip then. (i searched the net and found this .
Andy@Tokyo
While i made a mental check on stats, one daddy awoke and left the pool. fortunately, he wasnt my type. The open ait onsen at jakotsu was quite small, abt 2 and a half bathtubs size? and when one daddy left, i took the opportunity to move closer to the daddy that appeared to have fallen asleep.Part of what made me start this thread is this daddy i met at the sento, i wouldnt never forget him and the 'part and parcel of being a PLU lesson' he had indirectly taught me. It was an important experience for PLUs, i think. The lesson of 'never to play/hurt with someone who (or if u think)is looking for a serious relationship'. I made the first move to touch the 'sleeping daddy'.. nope i didnt spent much time touching (or testing water) but i went straight for his cute tool and he erected. After sometime, i thought i should be leaving and i dried myself up at the TV lounge area. (yap, some sentos come with a TV lounge). It wasnt long before he joined me there and we started chatting. To shorten the story, he brought me home and cooked me lunch. Told this story to some fellow BWers before, but i left out something important then. This daddy is in his 60s and sadly, his wife had left this world 20yrs ago. His only son got married and since then, stayed far away, in another corner of japan. I asked him if his son visits him often, only to find tears in his eyes when he replied. It was a sad story and this is a case of one becoming a PLU, largely because of the environment and circumstances he is in. This daddy is just a simple daddy and he leads a simple life.. very simple and lonely. He was lonely after his wife passed away and happened to go to this 'famous PLU sento' in asakusa. There, he found company and eventually, frequenting the sento became a habit. He asked me to call him again but i didnt..... Utopaen
Hi, have been reading the forums and doing some research online, but could not find any information that seems to be updated. Going to Japan for a short 10 day trip, and would like to keep up some sort of gym regime while over there. Anyone knows any gyms in Tokyo (i'm in Ueno) that has reasonable day charges? I know 24 charges 2400 yen, that's about 30 bucks right? anything cheaper available? Arigato!
gpfun
HiBased on what is discussed at another forum, it seems to me that 24 ueno has the best rates:http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g2981...ture_Kanto.html
Andy@Tokyo
Normally, those Str. gyms requires membership. i.e. For long-term use. 24 Ueno one seems to be the best option. Would post again if i can find out something new on this matter.Regards

erection day
More stabbing case in Japan public area due to domestic frustration. Is Japan getting more unsafe?http://www.todayonline.com/articles/267784.asp
Andy@Tokyo
The Akihabara stabbing incident seems to have triggered off a series of stabbing spree. The news ED mentioned was one such case. Last nite, a man in his mid 30s stabbed his parents, 2 days ago a high school student stabbed his former teacher and last wk?, a gal(teenager) also stabbed his father in his sleep. But, i think (correct me if i am wrong) these cases are not unique in/to Japan.
