Otherwise, the steam rooms may offer possibilities of fun as well.

Gay Cruising Onsen In Tokyo

 

Finally had an opportunity to visit this popular sento and made a few observations on my maiden attempt:

- Age group varied from the young to the old.

- Likewise, they came in all shapes and sizes. While there wasn’t much of a sight to behold, there were a few bearish muscular guys.

- The cruising vibe was obvious but at the same time muted. This is after all not a gay sauna.

- When there was a match, the play began but also ended quickly.

- I also didn’t observe the crowd to grow as it neared midnight. Perhaps it was a Thu night and the locals would need to work the next day. Perhaps it’s because the sento is sited in a residential area. Going by the looks of the patrons, I was probably the minority as a foreigner.

 

All things being said, it was still an experience and that’s what matters when it comes to travels. Well, at least for me. So explore if you are curious. Who knows? You may have unexpected “harvest”.

is this the one where you have the option of paying extra to go upstairs to the sauna?
i vaguely recall something on youtube.

Yes but i highly recommend that you do pay for the sauna. Hardly anyone used the heated pools otherwise. 🤣

 

On a side note, weekends attract better crowd. 😜

Plus, I just wanna share that I have been to "Active Osaka" in my last trip, but it was a dull, boring experience, particularly their attitude towards foreigners. meh..

It will be my first time to Japan, Tokyo and I am going there for a work trip for around 6 days in mid November. I am not staying in the city centre but I would like to explore the gay scene in Tokyo on one of the days. Wondering if it is worth exploring 24 kaikan and bodybreath if I am not planning to have sex there? Also, are there nice cafe around the area? I don’t drink alcohol.

 

I most probably only have the nights available to explore Tokyo. Any tips on where to go?

I have been to 24 kaikan in Tokyo, and my opinion is that patrons are not compelled to have sex in that establishment. 

 

It is, perhaps, expected that other patrons may proposition you for cuddles or for sex in there, but you can decline.  My experience is that the patrons are quite accepting of the situation, and respect your choice of not getting involved. 

 

I think a visit to 24 Kaikan would prove to be an interesting experience, be it with or without sex (or orgies 😁).

I checked in at an APA hotel with a sento for my solo Tokyo trip last week.  I had no intention of using the bath but curiosity got the best of me and I checked it out when i went to the in house vending machine to get water.  It was night time so it was busy.  The moment i parted the curtains I was blasted with so many naked men of all sizes.  Ive never seen a naked stranger so close to me.  I am very inexperienced; only having a body count of 2 and was trying my hardest not to look down.  My heart was pounding but i left as i was only there to check it out.  Ever since that night, it haunted me, so on the third day, i went to use it first thing when it opens so there wont be too many people.  I was right!  There was only about 3 or 4 people there.  I saw my first white guy dick when he was changing beside me right as i was about to start changing.  He was busy taking off his clothes that it gave me the opportunity to take a good look.  There was so much hair everywhere, it was glorious!  He had a really handsome face with a full beard (my weakness)  His penis is short but really thick and uncut!  Ive never seen one before! Well, I can only do these explorations when i travel solo.  Hope to be bolder next time.  Maybe I will have the courage or stupidity to go by myself into the hattembas in the future. :D

Just making a mental note to bring plastic glasses next time.  Made the mistake of bringing metal glasses into the sauna once and it really heat up. 

 

Its the APA in asakusa area, the one with the sento in the 14th floor. 

The sento does close at 1 am so its highly likely those without lascivious thoughts have gone to bed already.  I wonder that the cleaners are supposed to do when they encounter these.

Did you participate in the "some stuff going on" activity?  I would have really wanted to see one.  God, the male body is such a sight to behold.  :D

have you considered wearing disposable soft contact lenses when you visit the sauna?

 

I have seen people pop on the contact lenses at the locker when undressing, then go have fun in the sauna and/or steam room without having to grope around blindly (no pun intended, no offense meant).

 

Anyway, I am happy to hear that you had a good time in the Japanese onsen.  I like going to the onsen too.

I will look into the contacts.  Had a not so pleasant experience a long time ago with contact but i should give it a try just to enhance my experience. heheh.  Thanks for the tip.  I really enjoyed it.  Japan was amazing and an eye opener.  I need to travel solo more often when i can.

ah, i see. so it was a different APA. the one I stayed at was in Shinjuku.

I think same thing there, close at 1 am technically, but not sure if actually enforced.

the ones loitering way past midnight are highly suspect, hahaha

 

unfortunately without a steam room, the only activities are limited to a bit of underwater interaction

I will put on contact lens if i go into sauna, but tend not to bother for places like swimming pools or hotel onsens.
