derryfawne
Kate B's latest single from her upcoming album, 50 Words for Snow.Sounds like something straight out from the Aerial session, at least this time we only waited 6 instead of 12 years for a new KB album. 50 Words for Snow sounds like an intriguing title, I just checked Wikipedia and the song lengths are clocking at 6-14 minutes long. Seems like an ambitious prog-rock project.I miss her hysterical soprano octaves, though. She sorts of mellowed down after Hounds of Love. I need more mad stuff... whack that devil into my fiddlestick, Kate. My favourite Goldfrapp song. Kate Bush with a dollop with Cocteau Twins, imho.Seriously, you're right.I'm not usually a fan of Goldfrapp, but this is good stuff. Quote “Do not take life too seriously. PaterTenebrarum
Yea. Kate's vocals are now a lot less manic than how she sounded like in her the Dreaming and Hounds of Love days. But it could be due to age. She is after all in her 50s. Actuali, I think her mellow sound started with the Red Shoes. Imho, a woman has to sound and act her age and not be vintage leather dressed like veal *coughMadonnacough*A good example of how age alters a woman's voice is the way Marianne Faithfull sounds when she sang As Tears Go By. The one released when she was younger is TOTALLY different from the one released when she is much older. Of course for Marianne, the drugs and cigarettes did not help . derryfawne
Something more mainstream, but this electropop song has a neat little jazz vibe that works well. glowingember
Tricycle is sweet. It has a very pure and innocent, nostalgic feel.Foster the People - 'Call' is not as catchy as 'Pump' but doesn't the lead singer sound very British? Here's a song that's 9 years old.
