Oh, forgot to write about the artiste I was going to write about just now :P. Got distracted.

I'm totally getting Adele'd out: that album's been out for what, over a year now? So let's smear her a bit, muahaha.

There's a certain chanteuse who's been around for quite some time now and her voice is today suddenly being heard everywhere on the charts, despite next to nil air play for any of her music. Give you a hint: she's not MAS nor Qantas nor BA ...

It's Sia, of course! And it's probably through David Guetta for whom she sang "Titanium" that she got to know Flo Rida (who also worked with Guetta on "Club Can't Handle Me" and "Where Them Girls At") to collaborate with him on "Wild Ones".

But what's this got to do with Adele? Oh not much ... but here's an old track by Sia called "Breathe Me". Ms Adele, don't you think you should start paying some royalties? At least for having had ahem piano lessons from Ms Sia? I suppose the Glory must come from sharing the same Hometown...

The Last Shadow Puppets got sued by Muse for doing far less with The Knights of Cydonia.

that's one of my favourite songs by sia. though i only have a few songs of hers

Yeah... I prefer Takk myself too.

Heard they're coming to SG?

Yes. But tickets are abt $100+ or close to that Im not wrong. For Valtari album, I like the title track Valtari most.

I got to say that most of the songs there aren't as exciting as Glosoli or Hoppipola. In fact they mostly sound 'sleepy', just like a lullaby. But somehow I just like their genre.

Glosoli is my #1 favorite from them, and perhaps followed by Untitled #1 (Vaka).

To be honest, I haven't listened to their latest album, although I did listen to everything else from them and liked what I've heard.

I like their general sound, but I think it's starting to get predictable already. I think Agaetis-()-Takk is the undisputable trinity of their prime era masterpiece.

I'll probably go watch sigur ros anyhow. Just to bliss out.

It's worth checking out Kim Tak Building. Their album sounds like a post rock version of saint-saens Carnival of the animals.

I think we can dream on. Doubt she will come to SG cos I think our market is too small. For what I know the only Asian country she ever performed at is Japan. Where else?

She went to Indonesia when she was promoting Volta.

Ticket sales for sigur ros starts today at sistic. $98 for early bird. I'm still undecided haha

And the new Antony live album is released today.. I'll watch him as much as I'll watch Bjork.

Teeshirt, I'm also undecided. If u r going, u r going alone or with Someone? $98 is a bit too steep a price for a venue like fort canning...

I'm glad that Ellie Goulding is on her steady way to the top of the chart (it's #6 on US Billboard right now).

Good music is beginning to reign again, hopefully for good... as it would encourage the industry to promote real talents, and help the talents gain access to top-notch producers.

Adele. Foster the People. Fun. Gotye. Ellie Goulding. Who's going to make the stir next?

Although unlikely, I'm hoping for Alex Clare (the only alternative candidate sitting inside Billboard's Hot 100 right now).

Whoops, I have neglected five other alternative-worthy songs that are also alive on the bottom half of the chart.

The Black Keys - Gold On The Ceiling (

)

M83 - Midnight City (

)

The Lumineers - Ho Hey (

)

Of Monsters And Men - Little Talks (

)

Grouplove - Tongue Tied (

)

Hopefully some of these will reach the top of the chart.

nothing new here but dusty memories of frivolous youth. haha

my friend dave spun into his mix this when the club was closing during the days of artbar of robertson quay.

dusty memories of frivolous youth.

the original by the other half of Kings of Convenience.

love his eccentricities, both appearance and sound.

oh well the devil makes us sin but we like it when we're spinning, in his grin.

Ok... I am back after a long hiatus and decide that I should move away from the less "decent" side of the forum. And I have to confess that I am too lazy to scroll through the 19 pages of youtube (because it turns my computer pretty laggy... haha)

Not sure if anyone posted this before but I totally love them: Phantogram, an indie-moving-to-mainstream US band, but their music is seriously seriously amazing.

(hopefully the youtube thing works...) Anybody else a fan of theirs?? Would love to know if there's another Phantogram fan in SG...

Edit: Ok, I see someone posting a Phantogram video right above me in this thread haha, blur me. Anyway hi ziddyzid.

And oh, this is my latest craze:

She used to be under the radar, but now she's just somebody that we used to lol-

Anyone going for Snow Patrol / Passion Pit?

I'd like to, but after blowing $1k on festivals this year, I'm pretty grounded till Laneway lol.

Been into this band ever since they played Coach, but they're still pretty indie if I believe. Catchy.

Love the Von Sudenfeld vid/song! even though I'm not a fan of The Fall but I love Mouse On Mars, epecially this groovy headbanger from the album Idiology where they started using more vocals.

And I was in the mood for some cheery music and stuffed my player with Takako Minekawa who worked with her husband Cornelius on some cutest music ever. Try to bounce along :)
