just wondering, what about brisbane? any recommendation?

WET Spa - the only sauna left in town. Quite good for Asians and their admirers.

Sportsman. Lots of locals here. There is a bar downstairs which can become quite cruisy on weekends.

Here now in Melbourne...show me around! I’ve already stopped by Victoria Market, Chinatown, Federation Square, Docklands, Parliament, and the Moomba festival. I had to take refuge in the hotel for awhile since it began to drizzle but now the sun is back out I might go hit up St. Kilda. Will check out the peel/Sircuit tonight; hopefully there will be a lot of patrons as it’s a holiday tomorrow.

Was as in Sydney for Mardi Gras. Sunday Foam Party at 357 rivaled the infamous O Party at BKK R3. I have low expectations for WoW Melbourne and not sure if I want to go will the required ID scan.

Here is a photo I took at the main MG Party, in one of the 3 Halls i.e. the RHI (Royal Hall of Industry), for those who are curious about how it was...estimated 12,000 tickets sold. There were also 4 other recovery parties the day after, which I didn't go to.

Next time you should try Wet on Wellington. Looked clean and three floors to explore. I got there later than anticipated, so most of the clientele was beginning to leave but I still saw a lot of good looking and in shape men to interact with. Entry was 15 AUD on Monday for the no towel event.

I will be back on Aus this July.. First time visiting Mel, any recommendation on places to stay(please be happening)? Preferably near rendezvous Hotel Melbourne.

It will be only a 2weeks trip as I will be back to Syd to visit my fam.

well, rendezvouz hotel is near Subway sauna ... but as I (and others) mentioned , it could be a hit and miss place, try your luck.

possibly check out the gay club on one weekend if you feel like it.

it's going to be winter, so, be prepared with clothing.

I suggest to focus on touristy stuff in Melbourne, use your apps (grindr, jackd, etc) and your hotel as the shag point when you found someone.

Just go to 357 Sauna when you're in Sydney , it's more happening there

Just wondering if anyone stayed or staying in a hostel in Melbourne? For the sake of exhibitions and/ trying lucks for hookup?

I have a really hard time trying to decide whether to choose a hotel and/ hostel.

Any review on club80?

Melb hotels are very very expensive. Your biggest factor is budget - don't forget most hostels won't allow guests so you'll have to go to the saunas or his place.

Club80 is very tired now unless you are there on a party or theme night. You are better off going to Subway or Wet. The naked nights every month at the Laird or Mon/Tues night at Sircuit can be fun too.

Sigh.. But I don't drink.. So I don't think I can go to the bars.

Actually budget is not a problem for me, as I've originally planned to stay in a hotel. Deciding for a hostel cos of Reading the thread about naked in hostel. Haha hahaha like cool to see guys naked in a hostel and if lucky have a little bit of fun in the rest room. But hostel have prob with the security of my luggage, lack of charging points, walking distant from my tour pick up hotel.

You don't have to drink alcohol to go to the bars.... just get mineral water or a mocktail

I expect most hostels in Melb are mixed dorms, so probably very unlikely to see actual nudity in the room

You come across any with separate male female showers?

So much effort for hostel research ... I doubt there will be much wild encounters like in those porns.

depends on who the other travelers staying there, I guess.

probably should try gay hostels in UK or Europe, more chance happening.

or the Atlantis gay cruise ?!

or as of this moment ...Babylon in bkk.

wow... I am quite surprised they even exist in Australia

this is what I think after recently staying in a "notorious" male dorm in Taipei (it was super fun)

if you are a straight guy, given the choice of a male only dorm, or a mixed dorm, why would you choose a male dorm?

maybe just stay in the hostel for one or two night

Currently at Melbourne.... What kind of nice places? For tourist or for sex?

P.s. I don't have any recommendations for bar/pub/club though... But I've read up some on different forums.

Any place in Sydney can see chub strip show?

No chub strip show in Sydney.  But there are bear nites at some pubs.  Like the Kinselas Hotel at Taylor Square on a Friday or Sat bear happy hour.  Free BBQ,  just check their website.  Also at the Banks Hotel in Newtown, right next to Newtown train Station, on Sunday late afternoons.

Any recommended gay hotel, prefer chubs?

There are very few gay-only hotels in Australia these days - the only one I can think of is Club 80 in Melbourne.

The scene in Sydney is quite dead as well. If you prefer chubs, go to Melbourne instead to try the Laird.

Anyone knows what to wear for Australian winter in early September?

Sept in Sydney , just a T shirt and a light Fleece jumper is enough.   I use to have jackets but they are not necessary in Sydney.  But its different in Melb, you probably still need a jacket in Melb or a thicker fleece jumper..

Layers. For most people a light jacket / outercoat over a tshirt is enough. GREAT excuse to go shopping for clothes you'll ever get to wear in Singapore

Sydney will be too warm for those Uniqlo long johns (which is better for Melbourne/Butler). You'll be drenched in sweat after walking outside.
