Guest Tough life
In his 60's and on permanent heart medications, what are same ways to improve his cardiovascular heath? Heavy exercises like running and jogging is out as the doctor told him to refrain from strenuous activites. He also had a series of depression and suicidal thoughts previously due to family issues. yoyo74
Cholesterol is the thing that cause the arteries to the heart to get chock and get a heart attack. If u want a healthier heart you will have to be a vegetarian or vegan.
shyc
Try to do light exercises suck as brisk walks for slightly over 30mins per day. Targeting at least 3 times per week. Go for healthy choices of meals with Low fats, Low sugar and more Fiber. You don't need to totally stay away from your other favourite foods just minimise if they are unhealthy. eg. Share half a serving with someone or eat them only once a month instead of daily. There are many community activities these days in housing areas, look around and make an effort to join some within your interest. This help you to keep a healthy mindset and interaction helps to distract the mind from unwholesome thoughts. If socialising isn't your thing than get involves in gardening, hobbies to keep yourself occupied. Depression will slowly fade if you find self-worth. Good luck. Although cardio exercising is the typical recommendation, weight lifting can improve the heart too. If the restriction of running and jogging judged as strenuous activities is because heart rate should not rise too much, strength training (weight lifting) can be done with heavier weights but at a slow peace, with sufficient rest between sets to avoid aerobic exertion. Here is an article out of many about heart and strength training: https://health.usnews.com/wellness/fitness/articles/2017-06-09/can-you-improve-your-heart-health-with-strength-training Strength training can be done at home with some weights and /or resistance bands. There are millions of examples. The sky is the limit.
Guest guest
If a person has a mild heart blockage, does it mean heart rate should not rise too much? As in cannot run or walk too fast pace and too long distance?
